"I create metal sculptures from found objects, giving discarded materials a second life as expressive art. Ironically, much of what I find at the recycling center comes from exercise equipment, which says something about America."
-John Schwarz

Creating metal sculptures from found objects is a delicate balance of creativity, mechanics, and artistic vision. As a recycled materials artist, I’m drawn to the challenge of transforming scrap metal, engine parts, and bike components into expressive, cohesive pieces. There's a unique satisfaction in turning what some see as junk into upcycled art. Whether the pieces fit together mechanically or visually, it’s the process of assembling found metal objects that fuels my work. This type of industrial art—crafted from discarded tools and machine parts—isn’t just about the final sculpture. It's about seeing potential in the overlooked, and giving new life to what was once forgotten.
