"Ironically, much of what I find at the (recycling) center comes from exercise equipment, which says something about America."
-John Schwarz
The art of transforming found metal objects into sculptures is a delicate balance of creativity and mechanics. It requires a keen eye to select the right components and a thoughtful approach to assembling them in just the right way. I love working with engine and bike parts—there’s a unique satisfaction in taking a pile of seemingly unrelated pieces and turning them into something cohesive. Whether they fit together mechanically or visually is less important to me than the process itself. The act of bringing together found metal objects is what truly drives me.
